Accessibility
A site that works for everyone
Many Papuans use slow or costly mobile data. This site is built for phones and weak connections first.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Pages are light. They use a font already on your device and no large images, so they load quickly on slow connections.
- The site is designed for phones first, and works on computers too.
- Text and buttons have readable contrast, in both light and dark display settings.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, and has a “Skip to content” link.
- Images carry text descriptions, and audio and video will carry transcripts.
- Key pages and reports will be available as PDFs, to share offline.
Known gaps
- The Bahasa Indonesia version is not ready yet. Papuan-language pages, beginning with Lani, will follow.
- Some charts in the Library may be hard to use with a screen reader. We are adding text versions of the figures.
- Older PDF publications may not be fully accessible.
