Donation Terms
Donation Terms
Draft. To be reviewed by an Australian lawyer or accountant before donations open, including whether the Institute should register with the ACNC and seek Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
The one rule of funding
Money never buys access to restricted memory, and no funder may direct what is recorded, published or withheld.
Members receive updates, events and publications. Access to the archive is decided only by role and by the Council of Guardians.
Tax status
Gifts to the NATAKA Research Institute are not tax-deductible at present. We will update this page if that changes.
How gifts are made
- You can give once or every month, in Australian dollars or another currency.
- Payments are handled entirely by [payment provider]. The Institute never sees or stores your card details.
- You receive a receipt by email straight away.
- You may give anonymously. Your name will not be published unless you ask.
Choosing a fund
| Fund | Pays for |
|---|---|
| Field Research Fund | Recorders, travel and recording equipment |
| Language Rescue Fund | Language recording and revival |
| Library Fund | Hosting, database, security and backups |
| Publications Fund | Wone Press, translation and free PDFs |
| Where most needed | Whichever work needs it most at the time |
A gift to a chosen fund is used for that fund. If a fund is ever closed, we will use the gift for the closest similar work.
Monthly gifts
You can change or cancel a monthly gift at any time, using the link in your receipt or by writing to donate@natakaresearchinstitute.org. Cancelling stops future payments. It does not refund past ones.
Refunds
If you gave by mistake, or the amount was wrong, write to donate@natakaresearchinstitute.org within [30] days and we will refund it.
Offers we decline
We decline any gift that comes with conditions on what we record, publish or withhold, or that would put our independence or anyone’s safety at risk.
Where your money goes
Each year we publish a summary of what we received and how it was spent.
